ERATV is established according to Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community and Commission Implementing Decision 2011/665/EU of 4 October 2011 on the European register of authorised types of railway vehicles.

The register is hosted and maintained by the European Railway Agency (ERA). It contains data on types of vehicle authorised by the Member States pursuant to Article 26 of Directive 2008/57/EC.

Updates of "References of the EC type examination certificates" to be treated as modifications instead of error corrections. In accordance with Decision 2011/665/EU, Annex I, 5, ERATV allows, on published vehicle type authorisations, for: - Modifications: Modification, at the request of an authorising entity, of information of the registered vehicle type authorisation previously published which needs to be changed. This is for the cases when the issued authorisation was modified and therefore the ERATV record needs to be updated accordingly. - Error correction: Transmitted or published data that do not correspond to the given authorisation for type of vehicle. Modification of authorisation does not fall under this definition. This is for the cases where the issued authorisation has not been modified, but a typographical error has been detected in the ERATV record. We have detected cases where the update of the "References of the EC type examination certificates" are treated as an error correction, which would not be aligned with the above. Therefore, we would invite you to treat these changes as modifications from now on.
Parameters for which conformity to applicable national rules has been assessed Dear Authorising Entities, For the input of date in parameter “ Parameters for which conformity to applicable national rules has been assessed”, please remember to select the relevant “parameter set”: 2015/2229/EU or 2009/965/EC. For further information, please consult sections and of the ERATV manual located at https://www.era.europa.eu/registers_en#eratv. Thank you.
ERATV support Support is provided only to the entities acting as Authorising Entities in their process of submitting data in ERATV. Applicants for vehicle (type) authorisation are invited to contact their relevant Authorising Entity. Update of possible values of parameters, and Dear Authorisation Entities: The technical document with the ESC and RSC identifiers to be used, in accordance with CCS TSI Regulation (EU) 2019/776, has been published on the ERA website at: https://www.era.europa.eu/sites/default/files/activities/docs/era_td-011rec1028_esc-rsc_technical_document_en.pdf. Following its publication the value “None” for the following ERATV parameters is not valid anymore: - ETCS System Compatibility. - Radio Voice System Compatibility. - Radio Data System Compatibility. The previous “None” value may correspond to one of the three newly defined values: - “Not applicable”: ETCS or GSM-R is not installed or not authorised in the vehicle. - “ESC-EU-0” or “RSC-EU-0”: The on-board subsystem only have EC certificates, without any ESC or RSC checks. - “ESC-NP-CCS7.4a” or “RSC-NP-CCS7.4a“: The technical compatibility has been demonstrated according to a previous national procedure. There has been an automatic replacement of the current value “None” with the new value “Not applicable”. We would like to raise your attention to the fact that this change impacted all currently published types and the ones in draft in ERATV under the 4th Railway Package regime (Directive (EU) 2016/797). We kindly ask you to revise the impact on your currently published or draft types, to ensure that they correctly reflect the situation regarding these parameters. Special attention should be given to vehicle-types published or drafted after 16/01/2020. If an update of the published types would be needed, please submit a correction. Thank you.
